Hello Friends! I trust you started off the week well!! My week is alright!!!
Beauty has lost its significance as a female thing for a decade by now! A more uni-sexual noun "LOOKS" is gaining (rather gained) importance as women counterparts have also started caring for looks. It is no more just the machismo (it's a Spanish thing) which men are accountable for, but also for their looks. When it comes to looks, SKIN also called EPIDERMIS (medically) is the first thing to take care of for it being all over the body :)!!!
All those celebs and icons have pushed the phenomena of appearance further, and greatly helped emerge all sorts of cosmetics. Especially, the skin care ones. If John Abraham says, garnier men's fairness cream makes you fairer than milk (may be he should also use it not to be dusky), so be it. People are ready to follow, who cares for the results. That's the celeb and icon push am talking about.
Now, lets take care of the skin in just "FIVE" simple steps.
Rule 1 Identifying Your Skin Type: This is the first thing to do to ensure three things:
firstly, all the efforts you put is in tune with your skin type(dry, oily, etc.,) and tone(fair, dark, wheatish, etc.,). Secondly, don't forget that your skin type and tone will never change. So, stop worrying about it and do the best to nourish it to glow. Thirdly, test for compatibility on every product and procedure you are going to use on your skin.
Rule 2 Listen To Your Skin: It is all over you as the largest organ of your body. It stops dehydration, bad microbes out and what not!! The list goes on. Hence, it has a lot to speak for you to listen and interpret. The change in its texture, sensations, itching, and rashes - this is the only way skin can talk to you. Means, its a call for your attention and action. The quality of the skin is a sign of overall wellness of you. Listening is 50% solution.
Rule 3 Be Gentle With Your Skin: Do not over do anything like - applying lotions, creams or any kind of face packs. It can cause unwanted damage and adds to the problem. The results will be quick if you timely (not when your moods wanna do it) apply thrice a day. Don't use abrasive scrubs, excessive soap, or alcoholic toners, etc., It is good not to prefer extremely cold or hot water. Only gentle care helps grow normal collagen production.
Rule 4 Nourish Your Skin Regularly: All of us take care of the skin. The one who cares for it regularly has the "BEST SKIN." Use a moisturizer which has SPF (sun protection formula) and which is seasonal every day. Apply it gently on the face and the neck as they are mostly exposed to sun and pollution. Use a suitable face-wash with cold water to apply the cream each time. Remove any sort of makeup before you go to bed. Do not feel light about applying before you go to bed, that's the best time to see good results. Exfoliate your skin once a week or twice a month to remove dead cells and purify the surface.
Rule 5 Eat And Drink Skin Friendly: "You are what you eat" - is an old adage. True! Besides your overall health, the look of your skin and feel is the result of what you eat and drink regularly. If you want skin to be friends with you, you must do what it wants you to do. Drinking plenty of water flushes toxicants off the body from time to time which helps the skin to glow. Lack of nutrition and insufficient water results in pale and dead skin. Difficult to recover! Eating nutritious food provides Vitamin C, E and B which can protect the skin from all sorts of sun damage, repairs skin cells and contributes towards anti-aging to an extent.
Real beauty is within, of course! But beauty is "SKIN DEEP"! Let's not be philosophical with skin - it doesn't work that way. All you have to do is - know it to attend it to nourish it.
I hope you enjoyed reading it and start to care for your skin.
The next post will be on skin friendly habits.
:: Good Day To You! ::
